High voltage feeder relocation
To enable construction of the GreenWay, including construction of the GreenWay path and ecological restoration of the corridor, an existing high voltage overhead feeder has been relocated within the light rail corridor. The 33kV high voltage feeder 761 relocation incorporated electrical works along the corridor between Johnson Park and Jack Shanahan Reserve, as well as works adjacent to Waratah Mills light rail station.
The works include:
- A cable feeder along the eastern side of the light rail tracks from Arlington to Dulwich Hill stations
- Removal of the existing aerial feeder along the western side of the light rail tracks from Arlington to Dulwich Hill stations
- Vegetation removal to facilitate the new feeder and removal of the existing feeder from Arlington to Dulwich Hill stations
- Relocation of existing electrical transformer at Waratah Mills Station
Due to industrial action at Sydney Trains, all high voltage works were paused from April 2022. The industrial action was later resolved, and work was completed in November 2023.
