Political donations
When submitting a Planning Application, applicants are required to disclose if they have made a political donation to a party or individual. This disclosure is shown on the Development Application Form to provide transparency to the public. However, planning decisions are now made by independent Planning Panels and not the elected Council.
Councillors and candidates for election to become councillors are required to submit disclosures each 6 months on any political donations they have received. These disclosures can be viewed on the NSW Electoral Commission's website.
