To support our creative community, Inner West has opened up each of our seven Town Halls free-for-use as cultural and creative spaces!

Learn more about our Creative Town Halls program

Inner West Council is committed to creative spaces and is giving creatives more access to our venues, and in particular our Town Halls and the Annandale Community Centre (see venues information further below).

Council is developing frameworks to support creative access to space.

The new framework will support inclusive, accessible, and equitable access to space for individuals, collectives and organisations in the creative industry.

Many creative activities can now use Council venues for hire with a 100% fee waiver (free of charge):

  • Where there is evidence that payment of a fee for venue use will prevent the activity from occurring; or
  • Where an event or activities by a creative individual or group in a town hall or associated space is not primarily a fundraising event; noting that a small or gold coin donation to cover ancillary costs does not constitute a “fundraising event”.

You can read more information in our Indoor venues fee scale policy. See our indoor venues here.

If your enquiry is about longer term creative spaces such as artist residencies and studios, applications for these are currently closed.
