Artist/s statement
“Fried Eyes” presents four contemporary artists, working across a range of disciplines. Their practices are connected by way they employ image making to analyse the world that surrounds them. These artists are constantly looking hard, and processing what they see in order to gain perspective on the complex ties between past and present. Their layering of images, history and process allows them to ascertain their place in the contemporary moment - somewhere between personal histories and historical narratives.
Understanding the world through constant visual processing and image making can be fatiguing, however it's even harder to stop looking.
