Tabz A's story and art
This group of artworks is all about exploring and experimenting with my newfound artistic confidence. The works are made using a combination of graphite, ink and various coloured metallic paints.
Growing up in an environment where the only certainty was the uncertain, I often turned to art to seek a sense of familiarity. Creating art, to me, is a therapeutic experience. It’s my method of communicating emotions, thoughts and ideas. For me, it’s more about the process of bringing the piece to life rather than the final outcome; getting each stroke down, blending seamless transitions between shadows and highlights and adding texture and accents of colour. It’s about the journey of learning more about my mediums with each art piece.
The work I make explores themes and ideas that are hard to define and put into words. Rather, I prefer allowing the viewer to come up with their own interpretations; define it in a way they can understand and relate to.
این مجموعه کار ماحصل کاوش و تجربه من در مواجه با اطمینان نوظهور هنری است که در من شکفته شد. این آثار از تلفیق گرافیت، جوهر و رنگ های مختلف متالیک ساخته شده اند.
زندگی در محیطی که بلاتکلیفی و نامعلومی تنها امر مسلم محسوب میشد، هنر در واقع جستجوی حس آشنایی بود. خلق کردن برای من تجربه ی درمانی است. این روش من برای بیان احساساتم، افکارم و ایده هایم است. برای من، مهمتر از نتیجه نهایی، آن پروسه ای است که به اثر زندگی می بخشد: ضربه زدن ها به بوم نقاشی، ایجاد گذار یکپارچه میان سایه ها و سایه روشن ها، افزودن بافت و صوت رنگ ها. چیزی که برای من اهمیت دارد، پروسه کشف ابزارها با خلق هر اثر است.
آثار من ایده ها و تم هایی را به تصویر می کشد که توصیف آن ها در واژگان آسان نیست. در واقع این بیننده اثر است که بر اساس درک و ارتباطی که با اثر برقرار می کند، کارها را توصیف و تفسیر می کند.
Murtaza Ali Jafari's story and art
Murtaza began to make art in the Villawood Detention Centre in 2011, focusing on drawing. Over the last 9 years he has exhibited his artwork both locally and internationally.
مرتضی کار هنری خود را با تمرکز بر طراحی، در سال ۲۰۱۱، زمانی که در بازداشتگاه پناهندگان ویلاوود بود، آغاز کرد. از آن زمان به بعد، مرتضی، آثارش را در نمایشگاه های متعددی در داخل و خارج از استرالیا به نمایش گذاشته

Damon Amb's story and art
Damon is a visual artist and a photographer known for combining conceptual and abstract principles into a work process that incorporates photography, digital painting, texture and collage.
His work explores another dimension of photography and he uses art to transpose the viewer to an emotional experience, something that might evokes memory and feeling.
He tells stories of the human experience, philosophy, politics and fantasy. Some of his work can be autobiographical.
For the past 15 years, Damon has displayed his work in group and solo exhibitions in art galleries across Australia, U.K and Iran.
دامون عکاس و هنرمندی است که بیشتربه دلیل ترکیب اصول مفهومی و انتزاعی در یک فرآیند کاری که شامل عکاسی ، نقاشی دیجیتال ، بافت و کولاژ است ، شناخته شده است.
کار او ابعاد دیگری از عکاسی را مورد بررسی قرار داده و از هنر برای انتقال بیننده به یک تجربه عاطفی استفاده می کند ، چیزی که ممکن است حافظه و احساس را برانگیزد.
او داستانهایی از تجربیات انسانی ، فلسفه ، سیاست و فانتزی را بازگو می کند. برخی از کارهای او می تواند اشاره به زندگی خودش باشد.

Leila's story and art
My name is Leila.
I have been painting for many years.
I came to Australia seven years ago and I continued my paintings in comics, story telling, watercolour and abstract.
This is my first drawing from an image which I named ‘’Love’’
Because I always wanted to experience a deep love in my life, drawing that image made me feel like I can wait for a real love in my life. The abstract paintings are my imaginations from the recent bushfires in Australia that burnt down huge parts of the bush and forests. I’m happy now it’s over and nature is healing.
من لیلا هستم و سال‌های زیادی است که نقاشی می کنم. از هفت سال پیش که به استرالیا آمدم، هنر نقاشی ام را در زمینه های دیگر مثل کامیک، داستان گویی، آبرنگ و آبستره به کار گرفتم.
این اولین کار طراحی من از روی یک عکس است که نامش را «عشق» گذاشته ام. چراکه همیشه در پی تجربه عشق عمیق در زندگی ام بوده ام و طراحی این اثر ، این حس را برای من به همراه داشت که می توانم صبر کنم تا عشق راستین را در زندگی ام پیدا کنم.
کارهای آبستره من، تصاویر خیالی است از آتش سوزی های اخیر در استرالیا که جنگل ها و مزارع زیادی را به آتش کشاند.
اما خوشحالم که می بینم آتش سوزی به پایان رسیده و طبیعت در حال التیام پیدا کردن است.

Mary's story and art
I started painting with minimum equipment when I was on Nauru Island.
There was a great shortage of paint and no brushes or pencils, so I had to use anything such as the pencil ends that I sharpened or the broken fences as my pen, to be able to do my drawings to entertain myself during the harsh and miserable days to forget the terrible time passing and let my mind not think about it.
It is really hard to do so. In the beginning days, I just wanted to start something, so my painting was only putting some dots and just imagining what I had in my mind. But after a while, I started searching for how to invent the shapes by dots and this led me to combine Aboriginal and Persian style. It was so exciting for me to see how these unimportant tiny dots in our eyes can create the figures and shapes inside. I was telling myself “although I am a person left alone in a remote Island like a tiny dot that no one is seeing, I’m sure one day will come that I will shine and become a successful person”.
من کار نقاشی رو زمانی که نارو بودم با کمترین وسیله شروع کردم.
رنگ خیلی کم بود قلم نبود ومن از هر چیزی برای قلم استفاده میکردم از ته مداد که با سنگ میتراشیدم و از فنس هایی که میشکستند به عنوان قلم استفاده میکردم تا بتونم یه نقاشی بکشم و خودم رو با روزهای سخت و دردناک سرگرم میکردم تا گذر زمان را نفهمم و به چیزی فکرنکنم.
خیلی کار سختی هست. روز ای اول میخواستم فقط یه کاری رو شروع کرده باشم نقطه میزاشتم و برای خودم یه طرحی رو ذهنی می ساختم اما بعد از مدتی شروع کردم به سرچ کردن که با نقطه چه طرح هایی رو ابداع کنم که به سبک تلفیقی ایرانی و ابوریجینالی رسیدم و بسیار لذت بخش بود برام که این نقطه نقطه هایی که ما هیچ چیز حسابشون نمی کنیم وخیلی ریز هستند چه اشکالی رو با خودشون میسازند .به خودم میگفتم گر چه الان تو یک آدمی هستی که در یکجا در یک جایی که تو رو هیچ کس نمی بینه ایستادی. اما روزی می رسه که تویی که مثل یه نقطه بودی ، ریز و نادیده ، بدرخشی و انسان موفقی بشی.

Sahar's story and art
From childhood, my great interest to do painting made me chose Art as my high school major and I graduated in this field.
But my migration from my country, then my exile to Nauru Island for 6 years, together with my bad mood caused many changes in me. One change was my distancing from the art. Last year when I could bring back my good mood, I started RESIN Art. Resin Art is very eye-catching and pretty and you can express your inside feelings magnificently by playing with colours and choosing the technique for colours you prefer.
Most of my artworks are representing the sea and the waves as I have deeply and closely touched the rage and darkness of the ocean, so that for many years, I couldn’t enjoy watching the sea. Instead, I am seeking my own ocean by repeating the ocean and waves in my artworks.
من سحر هستم ، از بچگی علاقه زیادم به نقاشی باعث شد ، که در دبیرستان هنر را انتخاب کنم ، و در این رشته فارغ التحصیل شدم . ولی مهاجرتم از کشورم ، و تبعید پناهندگی من به جزیره نارو به مدت ۶ سال و شرایط بد روحیم، باعث تغیرات زیادی در من شد که یکی از آنها فاصله گرفتن من از هنر بود ، تا اینکه ، پارسال با شروع هنر رزین توانستم دوباره حالمو خوب کنم . هنر رزین هنر بسیار جذاب و زیبایست، که با بازی با رنگها و انتخاب رنگها و نوع تکنیک میشه به زیبایی حس درونتون بیان کنید. اکثر کارهای من به شکل دریا و امواج دریا ست من خشم و سیاهی اقیانوس و از نزدیک لمس کردم ، و سالها بود از نگاه کردن به دریا هیچ لذتی نمی بردم . من با تکرار دریا و امواج در کارهام دنبال اقیانوس خودم می گردم .

Maryam Mohabbat Pour's story and art
I came to Australia with my family eight years ago. I saw the art of tapestry in Sydney for the first time, but when I asked about it no one knew where I should go to learn that.
After eight years, someone told me to go to the “Community Refugee Welcome Centre." When I went there, I couldn't believe I could learn my favourite art after eight years.
I would like to thank this group for all the facilities they have provided for me and other refugees. I hope that these programs will be continued.
من مریم محبت پور هستم.من هشت سال پیش به همراه خانواده به استرالیا امدم.اولین بار هنر تپستری را در سیدنی دیدم ولی از هر کسی پرسیدم نمیدانستند کجا باید برای یادگیری بروم.بعد از هشت سال یک نفر به من گفت بروم به «مرکز خوش آمدگویی به اجتماع وپناهندگان» وقتی به آنجا رفتم ، نمی توانستم باور کنم که می توانم هنر مورد علاقه خود را بعد از هشت سال یاد بگیرم. از همه تسهیلاتی که این گروه برای من و سایر پناهندگان فراهم کرده است تشکر می کنم.
امیدوارم که این برنامه ها ادامه یابد.

Elham Marvi's story and art
Sometimes, it happens in our lives that we cannot accomplish things as we like and are not able to manage them right!
I am Elham Marvi, an art lover who likes to be active in different fields of art and I don’t like to lose any opportunities related to that.
Getting the offer of an online exhibition was so exciting for me and made me more eager to attend as I saw my active friends always cope with the conditions and harsh times (CORONA Crisis) and never can block their path through their flourishing. But at first, I didn’t have any artwork at hand to participate in this project. Meanwhile I didn’t want to lose the chance.
I was reviewing many different ideas in my mind and at the same time wondering what could be done during these Corona days. I said Corona, because it made me think about toilet paper and this became my theme to create my tableaus by using the finished rolls. Though my artworks cannot be put at the same level as my friends, during the pandemic it can be considered as a most expensive art due to above mentioned materials used to create it.
For me, the most important part was achieving a goal, fighting a hard condition, and off course being beside friends. I hope you like them.
I would like to name these two pieces “Rana“ (The name of a kind of flower in Persian) The flowers are mostly like Rana flower petals which dwell in dry and harsh condition. Nonetheless, they are always so fresh.
یک زمان هایی تو زندگی پیش میاد که هیچ کاری را اونطوری که دوست داری نمیتونی انجام بدی و مدیریت کنی.
من الهام مروی عاشق هنر هستم و دوست دارم توی همه زمینه هاش فعال باشم و دوست ندارم موقعیتی را از دست بدم .زمانی که پیشنهاد نمایشگاه آنلاینی را دریافت کردم برام خیلی جالب آمد و بیشتر راغب به شرکت در این پروژه شدم چون دیدم دوستان فعالم همیشه خودشون را با شرایط وفق میدن و مشکلات راه شکوفایی آنها را نمیبنده( منظورم کروناست )ولی من برای شرکت در این پروژه هیچ کار آماده ای نداشتم و دوست نداشتم که این موقعیت را از دست بدم . کلی ایده به ذهنم آمد که شرایط این روزهای کرونایی اجازه انجام آن را به من نمیداد . گفتم کرونا البته همین موضوع باعث شد که به فکر دستمال توالت بیافتم و با رول خالی اون این تابلو ها را خلق کنم .
اگر چه که هم تراز کارهای دوستانم نیست ولی تو این روزها جز گرونترین تابلو ها محسوب میشه. (جهت خنده ) برای من فقط رسیدن به خواسته و جنگیدن با شرایط سخت و همچنین بودن در کنار دوستان مد نظر بود. اسم هر دو تابلو را رعنا گذاشتم چون برگ‌های این گل ها شبیه گل رعنا هستن که در جاهای خشک و سخت رشد میکنن و با شرایط سخت همیشه شاداب هستن.

Shadi's story and art
I made some of my jewellery on Nauru, with enormous difficulties.
They never gave us enough supplies. They would only allow us to use around 30cm of wool and a single strand per session.
Now I’m in Australia and I still make jewellery with whatever I can find around me but nobody can prevent me from expressing my creativity.
با وجود دردسرهای بسیار، من برخی از این زیورآلات را در جزیره نارو ساخته ام. آنها به ما وسیله کافی نمی دادند، هر جلسه، تنها ۳۰ سانتی متر کاموا در اختیارمان قرار می دادند.
حالا استرالیا هستم و هنوز با هر چه در اطراف خودم پیدا می کنم، زیورآلات می سازم. هیچ کس نمی تواند مانع از آن شود که من خودم را با خلاقیتم بیان نکنم.
