Our six week programs are perfect for group fitness beginners and have been specially designed to build on your skills week by week. By the end of these programs you will have the experience and confidence to participate in any class.

Classes are limited and bookings are essential.

Weight Training Fundamentals

Ideal for beginners

Weight Training Fundamentals is a six week program designed to educate you on how weight training builds muscle strength, improves bone density, boosts metabolism, enhances posture, and increases overall endurance. It also supports joint health, reduces injury risk, and aids in fat loss. Consistent weight training improves mental health, confidence, and daily functional abilities, promoting a healthier, more resilient body for long-term well-being.

The six week program will help you master the 8 functional movement patterns:

  1. Squat: Lower body strength and mobility.
  2. Hinge: Hip-dominant movements (e.g. deadlift).
  3. Lunge: Unilateral lower body stability.
  4. Push: Upper body pressing (e.g. push-up)
  5. Pull: Upper body pulling (e.g. row)
  6. Twist: Core rotation and stability
  7. Gait: Walking/running mechanics
  8. Carry: Core and grip strength under load

Two courses will run in December:

  • Mondays 12pm - starts 2 December; or
  • Sundays 11am - starts 8 December

Inner West Fitness Pass members: $86.80 for the six week program
Casual: $172.20 for the six week program
