WCX M5 – St Peters Interchange Active Transport Works- Canal Rd/Princess Hwy/Mary St Cycleway

- Objective:
Inner West Council has been requested to deliver 2 walking-cycling projects around the M5 Westconnex interchange at St Peters on behalf of RMS & Westconnex. The provision of upgraded walking and cycling facilities within 1,000 metres of the St Peters lnterchange is a condition of consent for the WestConnex New M5 project.
The aims of the project were to identify pedestrian and cycle facilities that are to be provided by Westconnex as part of the State Significant Infrastructure for M5 interchange works.
- Project description: The proposed route starts at Mary St/Princes Hwy then follows;
- Bakers Ln
- Grove St
- Henry St
- George St
- Ends at Burrows Ave, near Sydenham Station.

-Once the detailed design is complete, construction tender is proposed for Feb 2023
- Construction is planned to be completed by Aug 2023 (subject to COVID-19 restrictions, TfNSW approval)
- Expected completion date: End of June, 2023
- Budget: The project is funded by IWC, TfNSW and NSW DPI&E.
