2021 NSW Local Government elections 4 December – Ensure your details are up to date

Local Government elections across NSW, including Inner West Council, will be held on Saturday 4 December 2021.
Voters will elect 15 new councillors – three for each of the five wards.
Voting is compulsory.
Residents of Inner West Council area can check if enrolment details are up to date with the NSW Electoral Commission.
The electoral roll closes Monday 25 October 2021.
There is also an option to sign up for an SMS and/or email reminder service for State and Local Government elections.
The Electoral Commission has added additional postal voting criteria to make it easier for electors to vote in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Applications for postal voting must be received by the Electoral Commission by 5pm on the Monday before election day (Monday 29 November).
Pre-poll voting opens Monday 22 November 2021. Anyone who is eligible to vote early or pre-poll can visit an early voting centre or pre-poll venue in their electorate, ward or council area.
The list of pre-poll venues will be included on Council’s election page.
Candidate nominations open on Monday 25 October and close on Wednesday 3 November.
Council is calling for diversity among councillor nominees, and is particularly urging women, young people and people from non-English speaking backgrounds to consider standing for election.
