There’s something for all ages in November at Inner West Council Libraries – with talks by Bruce Beresford on his career, Patti Miller on her recent memoir and Susannah Fullerton on A S Byatt’s Booker Prize winning novel Possession. There will also be a book launch for children and storytime for the little ones.

Join Australian film director Bruce Beresford for a talk focusing on his career as a filmmaker and his recently published book, The Best Film I Never Made, a collection of reminiscences about films and people. Presented in partnership with Friends of Balmain Library (FOBL).

Join the discussion on the social, creative and economic history of ceramic studios based in Marrickville. The panel includes local ceramics historian and collector Robert Hutchinson, Shelley Simpson, founder and creative director of MUD Australia and artist and designer Milly Dent.

Architecture Street: Affordable housing - Potential and possibilities
Join local architects Sam Rigoli, Michael Zanardo and Casey Bryant as they present an Architecture Street talk which explores the potential for affordable housing in the Inner West. Gabrielle Suhr and Charles Peters from SJB Architects will present their Illawarra Road project, a mixed-use affordable rental co-housing scheme in Marrickville.
The talk is presented in association with the New South Wales Architects Registration Board and Inner West Council.

The Joy of High Places with author Patti Miller
Join Patti Miller as she discusses her memoir exploring her long-distance walking over hundreds of kilometres and her brother’s obsession with paragliding. Patti Miller is a writer, teacher and author of nine books, including the award-winning The Mind of a Thief.

Funny Bones book launch
Come along to the Funny Bones book launch, a new short story collection for children. Proceeds from sales of the book will go towards War Child Australia. There will be games, lives performances and readings at the library by a range of well-known children’s authors.

Avril creates little stories about big feelings through her Feel Brave series of books. This series focuses on telling stories that help children manage difficult emotions and build their confidence.
