Comic Con-versation returns for 2019

Ashfield Library will celebrate the best of local comic culture by staying open late to host comic book artists, creators, illustrators, writers and publishers.
The library will present a series of events, workshops, panel sessions and exhibitions aimed at both kids and adults on Saturday, 13 July.
Artists’ Alley opens from 5pm, giving fans the chance to see comic creators at work, have a chat to them and purchase their artwork.
On show will be The Pieces Project exhibition, a graphic novel with a Guinness World Record. It is a one of a kind collaborative comic book project involving more than 200 international artists. The exhibition was founded by Jakub Mazerant from creative agency IllustrateYourLife.
In the Comics and Memoirs workshop, author Sandra Broman will explain why comics can be an excellent medium for memoirs by drawing out larger narratives, exploring different styles and page payouts. Bring a short story to the session.
Hear from panelists in Comic Team, Assemble! answering questions about what happens behind the scenes, the process of editing a comic anthology and the challenge of creating an artwork involving artists from all over the world.

The panel of authors and teachers on A,B, Comics discuss how sequential art can help educate future generations. With Jakub Mazerant, Tim McEwen, Ben Mitchell and Fionn McCabe.
