Dawn Gallery

The IWC Public Art Map features six outdoor art trails with a range of public artworks for your enjoyment.

Public art makes a valuable contribution to an enlivened and vibrant locality, by complementing and building on the unique qualities of our streetscapes and town centres.

Dawn Gallery
In honour of one the finest swimmers Australia has seen, this Gallery is name after Dawn Fraser, who has been a resident of Balmain for many years. In October 1962, she became the first woman to swim 100 metres freestyle in less than one minute, and she is the first of only three swimmers to win the same Olympic event three times (100m Freestyle). In 1998, she was voted Australia’s greatest female athlete in history.
