Camilla Lawson

Based in Marrickville, Camilla has been working as a prop maker and designer, theming music festivals and community events for over 15 years. Passionate about the arts, she initiated a creative warehouse, Little Majestic, which she manages as affordable studios and work spaces to other artists. In response to the Covid pandemic, she is pursuing new ways to support and expand opportunities for local artists and creative communities.

Current work and inspiration

With support form Inner West Council, Little Majestic has been able to build a dynamic online presence.

"Our website, www.littlemajestic.com is a creative platform dedicated to promoting individual artists, growing creative communities and access to community creative expression. Using our new website we are able to combine small Covid safe real-life events with virtual events and creative immersive experiences that can reach large audiences. We are thrilled to present our first virtual event, Edge@ Little Majestic with the support of Inner West Council" (Camilla 2021).

Edge@ Little Majestic offers a look inside a creative warehouse in Marrickville and presents engaging opportunities for audiences to expand their creative experiences. Visitors can jump online into our virtual platform and explore a brilliantly creative weekend of art markets, studio visits, workshops, demonstrations and performances. Audiences can also tune into our livestream or zoom into a workshop. Edge@ Little Majestic: unzipping creative spaces! 20- 21 November 2021
