Artist/s statement
All memories accumulated throughout our own unique landscapes of chaos and intent come to assume a distinct and tangible shape - us. 're/impressions' traverses the deeper aspects of the co-constitutive notions of crisis and hope and their opposing and inseparable roles in unconscious ideation, action and eventual healing. Through echoes of intimate impressions of momentous Australian events of recent times, the artists explore how repressed memories of collective trauma permeate through us, hardening within personal identity and compelling us to act.
Kids Stop Motion Animation Workshops For ages 6 - 12
3, 4, 5, 6 October 9.30am - 11am
Come join us as we enter the fun and magical world of stop motion animation!
Join the current exhibiting artists Jelena Sinik and Nicolette Axiak for stop motion animation workshops at Chrissie Cotter Gallery as we create our very own characters and worlds using our own hands and found objects.
Kids will be guided through the process of visual storytelling and will discover the skills needed to keep creating their own animations at home.
All they need to bring along is a fully charged smart phone, tablet or device with the free app 'Stop Motion Studio' pre-installed. Don't forget to pack chargers too... just in case.
We will provide animation materials and mini studio setups which are the perfect stage for that special cinematic experience as we design, light then bring our creations to life!
For ages 6-12
All hosts have a current Working With Children Check (WWCC).
