Suara Dance X Langen Suka will present a concert style event performing repertoire from both groups as well as collaborative new works that include live gamelan accompanied by live dance.
The event will be an evening concert with a workshop Indonesian Arts and crafts table available for kids pre- concert.
Our project will involve an 8 week collaborative rehearsals between the dancers and live gamelan.
Suara Dance X Langen Suka is a collaborative event involving two prominent Indonesian Arts groups in Sydney.
Langen Suka Gamelan Music Inc. is an association dedicated to traditional Javanese gamelan music. In Java, gamelan is viewed as a representation of an ideal and harmonious society in which each individual plays an integral part according to their own character, talents and abilities. Suara Dance is a NSW based Indonesian contemporary and traditional dance and music company with their studio located in Marrickville. They regularly tour nationally and internationally.
