Trikone Australia presents SATRANG, an art exhibition celebrating the vibrant intersection of South Asian queer identities through diverse artistic expressions. The exhibition featured a rich tapestry of art forms, including painting, ceramics, and performance art, all exploring the themes of intersectionality and identity. "Satrang" is a Hindi word that means "seven colours" or "colourful" (like a rainbow). It often describes something vibrant, diverse, and colourful, symbolizing a spectrum of hues and diversity.

Overview
SATRANG showcased the talents of South Asian queer artists, presenting their work in a space dedicated to highlighting their unique voices and stories. From intricate ceramics to evocative paintings, each piece invites viewers to explore the multifaceted nature of identity and creativity.
The two-day event kicked off with an Opening Night Gala on Saturday, 22 June 2024 with 100 guests piling into the Gallery. Attendees were treated to an array of performances, including live violin music, a captivating drag show, and heartfelt poetry readings. The evening will also featured an insightful artists' talk, providing a platform for the talented individuals behind the exhibition to share their stories and inspirations.
The organisers describe the benefits of being involved in the Cultural Connections program "the financial support, increased visibility and recognition for the organisation and the artists involved, and the opportunity to connect with a broader audience. The program provides valuable support to artists and organisations, promotes cultural diversity, and fosters community engagement".
