We are excited to announce that four organisations have been successful recipients of the Elimination of Racial Discrimination EOI 2025 round. We will publish information about the events here as the organisations finalise their event planning.

  • Our Stories Our, Our Dignity: An Evening of Antiracism through Hearts, Stories and Community

  Join us for a night of stories, conversations, music and food.

When: Friday 4 April from 5pm to 9pm

  • Racial discrimination: know your rights with Marrickville Legal Centre 

Learn how to protect yourself from racial discrimination through free 
community legal education sessions hosted by Marrickville Legal Centre (MLC)
These sessions, funded by the Inner West Council, explain key laws, highlight 
community resources, and provide practical tips for identifying and addressing 
racial discrimination.

REFUGEE WEEK 2023 

 The Spirit of Welcome Community Festival - Sunday 18 June 2023

Time12 – 4pm VenueCommunity Refugee Welcome Centre – Callan Park, Building, 504 Wharf Rd, Lilyfield 
Settlement Services International is hosting the Spirit of Welcome event in partnership with Inner West Council. Spirit of Welcome is a cross-cultural and family friendly event which will showcase the cultural and artistic contributions refugees make to their new home and is a celebration and acknowledgment of our rich cultural and linguistic diversity.
The event will be a unique platform for diverse communities to come together through skill-sharing and cultural exchange. Specifically, the festival will encourage active participation and engagement of Inner West locals and newly arrived communities through the variety of workshops, performances, and activities.

Our Voices, Our Stories

To mark International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination 2023, 'Our Voices, Our Stories' was held at Marrickville Library on 21 March 2023, curated and hosted by Kween G. This Inner West Council event featured a series of incredible community artists sharing their lived experiences of racism through spoken word, music, poetry, film and food.
