Come and celebrate the community and delights of Inner West village, Dulwich Hill on Sunday 29 September, 12pm-5pm. A local hidden gem, Dulwich Hill is ready to shine for the festival’s return to the streets. Footpaths and streetscapes will come alive with live music, foodie treats, artisan stallholders and more!
This year we have partnered with the Inner West Artist Market to bring you a taste of the finest Inner West creatives, and have a range of workshops and performances across two stages and roving around the site to keep you entertained

Performing Brazil
Performing Brazil perform traditional Brazilian music using original instruments from Brazil; strings, percussion and horns. Their repertoire includes bossa nova, samba, the exciting Brazilian Jazz called Choro. Performing Brazil is the premier band to play Brazilian Jazz in Sydney since 1997.

Highland Stone
Highland Stone began with four mates who formed a band post Covid playing covers in the garage. This has since evolved into songwriting, an album release on Spotify and countless live performances. After many hours playing in their bedrooms, they sent a demo to the owner of Lazybones in Marrickville. Highland Stone were given the main stage on a Friday night which sold out the venue with over 200 covers.

Kid Hank and his Ockerstra
Henry Manuell’s « Kid Hank and his Ockerstra » brings the vibrancy of New Orleans to life. A repertoire covering the traditional, creole, Dixieland, and swing jazz styles with just a sprinkle of ragtime. Hank and the crew create a joyful rendition of ‘NOLA’ street music. The band's toe-tapping beats and lively melodies transport listeners to the familiar sounds of the early 20th-century French Quarter. The Ockerstra's unmistakable Inner Western earthy notes portray its Sydney origins. The modern twist of classic old-timey jazz and dancing rhythms is guaranteed to have you dancing in your seat!

El Coyote
El Coyote are a combination of dusty, soul-touching blues rock and melancholic Americana Folk. Storming out of the gates with a rich, vintage sound, astounding guitar and organ solos as well as a front-man with a wild growl of a voice, El Coyote are proving to be some of the best performers coming out of Sydney now. Taking inspirations from classic blues players like Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf and Junior Kimbrough, El Coyote are the live act to watch.

DJ Thaen
DJ Thaen plays South Asian rhythms and melodies into her DJing from around the world. By blurring boundaries between genres and musical style, she plays with an intention to manifest the ways in which music unites us - celebrating our differences with love. DJ Thaen creates a fusion that provides a space for movement for her audience, with hopes to enhance their lives through music. She is fuelled by an intense love inspiring people to let loose and just be silly on the dance floor. You can expect a carefully curated infectious set that is sure to get everyone grooving!

ChillCheney
Born without a musical background, ChillCheney found his calling at the age of 14. ChillCheney is from Wiradjuri mob and his music is, characterised by its emotional depth and dark undertones, pays homage to eminent artists such as Eminem, NF, Gnash, Phora, Billie Eilish, and Lil Wayne. His performance record is an eclectic mix of events and venues, including, COOEE festival (2019), Yabun Festival (2023), NAIDOC in The City festival at Hyde Park (2023) and Marrickville Festival (2023). He hosted his own show at the Metro Theatre, Sydney, shared the stage with Nitrous Battles at the Melbourne Pavilion, and warmed the crowd for Drapht during his tour (2022). His notable performances also include supporting Tech N9ne at his Sydney show (2022). ChillCheney is currently on an exciting Australian tour set to take place in May and June, 2024, with captivating performances scheduled in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Cairns, Canberra, and Newcastle.

MummaSing Inner West is a friendly community choir for mums, with a diverse repertoire including childen's music, indigenous and multicultural songs, as well as pop hits. We welcome mums with or without kids to our rehearsals, with ensuing chaos, fun and joyful noise! We meet at 10am Thursdays at St James, Croydon during the school term.

Solidarity Choir
The Solidarity Choir, founded in the late 1980s, is dedicated to promoting social justice through music. Formed during a period of significant social activism, the choir’s mission is to raise awareness about human rights, environmental issues, and peace. Their diverse repertoire includes protest songs from Australia and other places, original compositions and arrangements, and culturally inclusive music. The choir performs at rallies, protests, community events, and festivals, often collaborating with other activist groups. Their performances aim to inspire and mobilize audiences to take action on important social issues. The Solidarity Choir fosters a strong sense of community, united by a shared commitment to social justice and equity. Recognized for their contributions to social activism, the choir remains a powerful voice for change, using music to advocate for a better, more just world.

Hoa Mai Vietnamese Cultural Group
The Hoa Mai Vietnamese Cultural Group was originally established in 2012 as a means of art therapy for female carers, using music and dance to alleviate their anxiety and stress. Since its debut at the 2016 Open Marrickville, the group has grown to include people of all genders. Members engage in a series of movements, dialogues, and rehearsals, providing a vital outlet for creative expression. This empowers them to enhance their social, mental, and physical well-being, while also contributing their talents to enrich the multicultural community. The group is a remarkable success story of how Community and Cultural Connections can unlock potential. By working alongside community members, Hoa Mai not only removes barriers but also inspires others to collaborate in building a healthy, vibrant community. The Hoa Mai group has proudly performed at the Sydney Lunar New Year Festivals and many other events, showcasing their dedication and passion.

Dulwich Hill Public School
Dulwich Hill Public School has a vibrant music program where every child has a weekly music lesson. There are many extra curricular music groups to choose from also - There are three choirs, a full string program with Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced groups, two recorder groups and a Concert band program. Each year, students perform in music initiatives outside their school such as the Festivals or Choral and Instrumental music in the Sydney Opera House, the Primary Proms in the Sydney Town Hall Art's Unit School Spectacular and Boys Vocal Workshop. They are very excited to showcase some of the tunes they have been learning this year.

Mixed Dance Ensemble
The Mixed Dance Ensemble from Dulwich High School is a dynamic group of talented dancers, renowned for their energetic and captivating performances. This ensemble has graced the stages of prestigious events like Pulse Alive, Spec Fest, Schools Spectacular, and Spotlight Festival, showcasing their versatility and passion for dance. Their upcoming performance, "Give Me a Break" by The Ritchie Family, promises to be a vibrant display of rhythm and movement, reflecting the ensemble’s commitment to excellence and creativity.
Stage Band
The Stage Band from Dulwich High School is a powerhouse ensemble featuring some of the school’s most talented music students. Specializing in jazz, funk, and R&B, this group is known for their exceptional musicality and tight, groovy performances. Their repertoire showcases a deep understanding and love for these genres, consistently impressing audiences with their skill and passion. They will be performing the classic 'Cissy Strut' by The Meters.
An Honest Man
Selin, a talented senior drama student at Dulwich High School, has crafted a powerful monologue based on the historical case of Edward De Lacy Evans, one of the earliest recorded trans men in Australia during the late 1800s. Drawing from newspaper articles and historical accounts, Selin has meticulously researched and written an original piece of verbatim theatre. This compelling work delves into the struggles and injustices Evans faced, including his institutionalization for living as his true self. Selin’s performance promises to be a poignant exploration of identity, history, and resilience, showcasing Selin's dedication to storytelling and social awareness.
Vocal Ensemble
The Vocal Ensemble from Dulwich High School is a harmonious group renowned for their captivating and soulful performances. They have showcased their exceptional talent at prestigious events such as InConcert at Town Hall, performing alongside over 500 other gifted singers. Demonstrating their dedication and skill, several senior members also contribute to The Arts Unit's esteemed Senior Singers program. In their upcoming rendition of Bill Withers' classic "Lovely Day" and Billie Eilish's contemporary classic 'What Was I Made For' the ensemble promises to deliver a heartfelt and uplifting performance that highlights their unity, vocal prowess, and passion for music.

SYDA
SYDA is a 16yo emerging artist from Sydney's Inner West. Her style of songwriting is described as indie-folk and her lyrics reveal a talent well beyond her years for vulnerable storytelling. With her delicate vocals and rhythmic guitar, SYDA's music touches the hard- to-reach areas of adolescence “to listen to her music is to let hatred, anger, bitterness, love and tenderness bruise you”. SYDA is a graduate of the 2023 MADD/Sony Foundation scholarship program and is a regular performer in the Inner West, having played at The Gasoline Pony, Footprints EcoFestival, Twenty10's 2024 Glitter Ball, the Inner West Music Fest, Pratten Park Bowling Club, and Sappho's as well as a TDP phase 2 participant. SYDA is currently recording several singles which will be released in July/August 2024 in addition to her single 'Satisfied Asleep' which is currently available on all streaming platforms. |

Formed by best mates with shared experiences, the band's chemistry is undeniable. With over a year of performances, they’ve honed their craft, continuously pushing creative boundaries. Their songs capture moments of change and personal experiences, reflecting their teenage lives and resonating with a diverse audience. Known for their genuine connection with fans, they pride themselves on being approachable and engaging, cherishing every interaction, whether it’s a post-show chat or a message from a supporter. Currently, the band is finalising their debut EP, pouring their passion into every track. With talent, dedication, and heartfelt performances, There Goes Me is poised to take the music scene by storm.

Team AcroPals is a diverse group of acrobats with varying ages and abilities who are part of AcroPals Acrobatics, a small, women-led acrobatics school in the inner west. The school has been operating for 7 years in Marrickville and St Peters. Our students are talented acrobats who enjoy performing dynamic acrobatic dance routines. They are eager to showcase their skills at the upcoming Dulwich Hill Festival for the local community to enjoy.

Marrickville Rd between New Canterbury Rd and Fairfowl St, Seaview St between Marrickville Rd and Herbert St, and Durham St between Marrickville Rd and Durham Lane will be closed to all traffic.
