Bike share

 share bikes

Shared e-bikes provide ‘transport-as-a-service’ for when people need to make a journey. Other ‘transport-as-a-service’ options in Sydney include shared cars, on-demand buses and ride sharing services. The popularity of shared e-bikes is increasing and, shared e-bikes and e-scooters are increasingly recognised as an important part of an urban transport system, particularly to access public transport.  You can access a shared e-bike by downloading the app for one of bike providers listed below.

With the conversion of the T3 train line to Sydney Metro between Sydenham and Bankstown, we have installed marked parking space for shared e-bikes and we continue to work with bike operators to ensure the e-bikes provide a useful transport option and do not cause safety or obstruction risks.

Safe riding and parking

To stay safe when cycling make sure to wear a helmet and familiarise yourself with the road rules. Except for Shared Paths you must ride on the road, not the footpath, to keep pedestrians safe.

Make sure to wear a helmet when cycling and follow the Road Rules. Except for Shared Paths, you must ride on the roadway. Poorly parked bikes can make our footpaths inaccessible for the people using them. Please park bikes safely and keep the walking space clear. Please report any concerns about e-bikes causing obstructions directly to the e-bike companies using the contact details provided below.
