When we meet and how to join

Working Bees: 9:30am last Sunday of the month, year round.

How do I join? No membership fees. Attend our monthly working bee for an orientation and registration.

How much time must I commit? Members attend our monthly working bees where we also collectively set goals on plantings and other projects (average 1-3 hours). Once you have joined, you can also garden outside monthly working bees, on your own schedule, eg additional watering.

What do I bring? As a member you can access the ‘shed’ which has all the larger tools eg shovels, watering cans, wheelbarrow etc. Come with your own personal gardening gloves, secateurs or pruners, or trowel, or weeder etc. Basically, bring the small tools that suit you.

Also, we encourage wearing sun hats, sunscreen, and closed shoes. Bring a water bottle for easy refill.

About the garden

Punch Park Gardens were created in 2014 and is maintained by a group of dedicated members. We welcome new members and encourage families with children to join.

It is an opportunity to:

  • Get outdoors and meet your neighbours
  • Learn about sustainable gardening
  • Grow, harvest and share your produce
  • Introduce your children to the natural world with hands-on experiences.

Accessibility

The garden is easily accessible with no steps or steep gradients. Very close to street parking and sealed footpaths.
