Junior Lifesavers Summer Clinic
Inner West Aquatics are pleased to launch our very first junior lifesavers clinic at Dawn Fraser Baths this summer!
This program is run in conjunction with Royal Life Saving NSW and caters to children aged 8 to 14 years with a moderate to advanced level of swimming ability (please see assessment criteria below).
We will be offering a 3-hour course that will be run at Dawn Fraser Baths and will be available on either of the following dates:
- Tuesday 21 January, 9am – 12pm
- Wednesday 22 January, 9am – 12pm
Cost: $30 per child
Activities will include:
- Basic swim and survival techniques
- Rescue Skills
- Lifesaving skills
- CPR awareness and how to use a defibrillator in the event of an emergency
The course will be delivered by fully our qualified Swim Teachers and Lifeguards. Spaces are strictly limited and bookings essential. Swim School Terms and Conditions (PDF 162KB) apply.
Junior Lifesavers combines the skills of swimming, rescue, accident prevention and emergency care into a series of events that are designed to test the overall ability of a young lifesaver, both in and out of the water.
Dawn Fraser Baths is situated in Sydney Harbour and subject to tidal changes and contains marine life. Water quality is managed daily by Beach Watch NSW and updated at 6am each day. In the event of heavy rainfall and the baths being closed due to poor water quality, the program will be moved to Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre and all participants will be notified by 7.30am that day.
