Jack Shanahan Skatepark Surface Repairs and Lighting Upgrade

  • Project description: Jack Shanahan Skate Park is scheduled for upgrade and renewal. Council has resolved to upgrade the park to meet community feedback. Repurpose existing light poles and add new lighting to the skate park and tennis court to meet current lighting standards. Resurfacing of skate park to improve the skating experience.

Lighting of the skate park is designed to be on a timed setting from dusk until 9pm in the evening.

Stage 1 works include:

  • Description: Resurfacing of all skate surfaces, including the skate bowl and snakerun.
  • Progress: Procurement
  • Expected completion date: June 2025

Stage 2 works include:

  • Description: Add new lighting to the skate park and tennis court
  • Progress: Design and approvals
  • Expected completion date: October 2025
