Lewisham to Newtown cycle link

Project description: 

The Regional Route 7 cycleway upgrades are being delivered in 2 sections:

Stage 1 : Trafalgar Street between Railway Terrace and Abels Lan -Petersham

Construction of Kerb & Gutter and Footpath  with signs and line markings. This included TfNSW final approval of four traffic signals design across the route.

Stage 2 :  Petersham Station to Newtown

Completion Dates: 

• Section 1 completed December 2021.
• Section 2  completed: June 2022.

Responding to your feedback:

Community feedback has shaped every stage of the design of the cycleway. In response to community feedback, Inner West Council has cancelled the proposed tree removal in Section 2  The post construction review will be organised after each project stage completion. Residents’ concerns raised during construction will be taken in consideration.
