Land and Property Strategy

The Land and Property Strategy is developed to ensure the community’s assets are being properly managed and protected for the long-term best interests of the community:

  • It provides a framework to ensure equity, consistency, accountability and transparency in Council's property asset decision-making
  • It provides a sound basis to achieve a sustainable property portfolio, generating positive community outcomes by developing and enhancing community capacity
  • It serves to guide future investment and resource allocation decisions associated with Council-owned and operated property assets to meet the diverse and evolving needs of the local community
  • It ensures Council is able to undertake property asset management activities in accordance with its statutory obligations and best practice principles

The Land and Property Strategy is being implemented with a long-term strategic focus. Informed decision-making will ensure that short term decisions do not have an adverse impact on long-term goals. The community is encouraged to provide valuable information through the engagement processes. Council will work closely with community groups to build capacity to deliver on the relevant strategic actions.

This strategy is reviewed annually.
