14 February 2023

Petersham Bowling Club has come on board as a Partner in the Inner West Council's BBQ for the Voice to Parliament to be held this Saturday February 18 at Petersham Park.

Co-author of the Uluru Statement Pat Anderson will address the BBQ, which is set to be a large scale community gathering.

Renowned Aboriginal country artist Vic Simms will play a free gig for the community at the Petersham Bowlo as part of the event.

George Catsi, Petersham Bowling Club President said “The Petersham Bowling Club believes in building stronger communities through the empowerment of the individuals within it. That is why we support our Inner West indigenous communities by backing the Voice referendum and the Uluru Statement from the Heart.”

Inner West Mayor Darcy Byrne said having Petersham Bowlo’ partner for the BBQ showed how the community can get involved positively in the referendum process.

“Petersham Bowlo is a great example of a community institution that has an important role to play in building awareness about the referendum.”

“Our BBQ for the Voice to Parliament will be a fun, family friendly event with a free sausage sizzle, free swim, live music as well as the chance for local people to learn about the Uluṟu Statement and the Voice.”
