Have your say on Council's most important urban planning documents
Wednesday 24 August 2022
Inner West Council has commenced its community consultation on urban planning documents that control how, where and to what extent development should take place in the Inner West.
Everyone is invited to find out more and have their say on the development of:
• the amendment to the Inner West Local Environment Plan (LEP)
• the Comprehensive Inner West Development Control Plan (DCP)
Following extensive community consultation in 2019 and 2020, Council identified three areas for additional housing growth:
1. Dulwich Hill Station and Village
2. Marrickville Town Centre
3. North Ashfield
Now after Design and Technical Studies, Council will host webinars and information sessions to better inform Inner West citizens and allow everyone to provide comment and input into the draft documents.
“This is an opportunity for the community to participate in the making of the planning instrument which will set the direction for the built form of the Inner West community,” said Deputy Mayor Jessica D’Arienzo.
“We must balance development with community expectations on the liveability of the Inner West, which must include open space, recreational and environmental amenities, cultivating our creative arts precincts and thriving local businesses,” she said.
