Council eases restrictions at playgrounds, fitness stations, skate parks and pools

Inner West Council will reopen playgrounds, outdoor fitness stations and skate parks today, Friday 15 May, in line with advice from NSW Health.

⦁ Commercial fitness trainers and boot camps are permitted to resume from Friday 15 May

⦁ Registered trainers are permitted to resume groups limited to 10 people

⦁ Social distancing and good hygiene must be maintained

⦁ Users should exercise caution including practising social distancing. Use of hand sanitiser or wipes is recommended


Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre will reopen on Monday 18 May, in line with advice from NSW Health.

The Dive Pool and 50m pool will be open 5.30am - 8pm and standard weekend hours, limited to 10 people per pool, and single person to a lane.

Bookings are essential and will open at 12pm on Friday 15 May.

Recommended social distancing is to be practised at all times.

To achieve this, patrons will enter the water at alternating ends. As well, change rooms are closed until further notice.

At this stage other measures include:

⦁ Closures at 12pm - 1pm for cleaning regime
⦁ All visitors are limited to three visits per week, and each visit limited to 45 minutes
⦁ Café services will be open

Community sport training is permitted to recommence from Tuesday 18 May.

Community sport participants should contact their local club, association or peak body for information on when individual sports resume.
