Celebrate 2019 International Women’s Day at Petersham Town Hall

The theme for this year’s International Women’s Day event is ‘More Powerful Together’ and will focus on showcasing the successful women living and working in the Inner West.

The global day on Friday, 8 March celebrates the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women while also marking a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

The theme ‘More Powerful Together’ recognises the important role women, men and gender diverse peoples play to advance gender equality and that it takes a collaborative effort to break down stereotypes and gendered roles to create a world where women and girls everywhere have equal rights and opportunities.

The event will also feature the inaugural International Women’s Day Honour Roll nominees and presentation which honours local women and girls who have made a contribution to empowerment, equality, social justice and inclusion.

The event will feature special guest speakers, performers and light refreshments. There will also be an AUSLAN interpreter and the event is wheelchair accessible.
