2019 Amy Large Volunteer of the Year

Bronwyn Bancroft is Inner West Council’s 2019 Amy Large Volunteer of the Year.

The annual awards acknowledge outstanding contributions to local families, organisations, programs and individuals in need.

Ms Bancroft is a Bundjalung woman, artist and founding member of Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-operative, where she has volunteered for the past 10 years.

Also named a Senior Volunteer of the Year, Ms Bancroft was honoured at the award ceremony at Ashfield Town Hall on Thursday, 23 May.

Ms Bancroft has been commissioned on several major works in the Inner West including Weavings of Light and Life for the Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre. The work was commissioned by Leichhardt Council in collaboration with the Leichhardt Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Consultative committee. In 2004 she was commissioned by Marrickville Council to design and deliver the signature work on the Robyn Webster Sports Centre Tempe.

  • Volunteer Team of the Year: Inner West Council/Metro Assist English Conversation Program – Ashfield Newtopian Outreachers

Council’s Amy Large Volunteer of the Year Awards and Thank You Evening are held every year during National Volunteer Week, which in 2019 is celebrating 30 years.
