Try a Bike at Big Bike Day
Thursday, 6 September 2018
The cycling festival for all ages that is Big Bike Day will again feature free workshops and events at War Memorial Park in Leichhardt from 11am to 2pm on Sunday 23 September.
Big Bike Day welcomes seasoned riders and those who don’t have a bike.
The annual celebration has a packed program including:
- Free ice cream, bicycle-powered smoothies and coffee
- Bike skills workshops for people of all ages and experience
- Bicycle maintenance checks
- Free try-a-bike with local bike shops
- Rock climbing, face painting, bicycle decorating and unicycle rides
- Talks by members of the cycling community
Big Bike Day is a fun event that highlights the thriving community around cycling, and shows that cycling can suit many people – including families.
A ride led by police and bike user groups escorts riders starting from 11.30am on a relaxed journey through the inner west.
Whether you’re young or older, you can develop confidence and riding skills, chat with riders from all walks of life, and discover new bike routes that suit your needs.
Come along, boost your skills and find your community in cycling.
