Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre – creating a 10-year plan Inner West Council is inviting the local community to assist in developing a 10-year shared vision for upgrading Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centre (LPAC), and the surrounding area. LPAC is located in Leichhardt Park, Lilyfield. A number of other significant recreational facilities are also located in the Park including Leichhardt Oval, Leichhardt Rowing Club, and the Iron Cove Bay Run. Council is now commencing to update the first master plan that was adopted by the former Leichhardt Council back in 2005. The new master plan will reflect the changing needs of the community and the outcomes of the recent Inner West Council Recreational Needs Study. Along with LPAC itself, the master plan will also consider: • The adjacent car park • All connecting footpaths • The Mary Street entrance • Connections to the harbour foreshore, the Bay Run and Leichhardt Park As well as an online survey, inner west citizens are also invited to provide ideas and give feedback at several pop-up stalls at LPAC in the coming weeks: • Wednesday 24 January, 6am - 8am • Saturday 3 February, 9am - 1pm • Friday 9 February, 6am - 8am • Thursday 15 February, 4pm - 6pm • Saturday 17 February, 9am - 1pm • Tuesday 20 February, 4pm - 6pm The draft master plan that Council develops using the community’s ideas and feedback is expected to be publicly exhibited in June 2018, for further community consultation. To see a map of the area included in the master plan, complete the survey, read a Project Timeline, or read more background on the project, go to www.yoursayinnerwest.com.au The last day to provide feedback on this stage of the master plan is Sunday 25 February.
