Public Art Opportunities at Patyegarang Place
Contemporary artists have the chance to have their artwork featured at Council’s new state of the art Library and community spaces in Marrickville.
Three high profile sites are up for grabs at the new Patyegarang Place, and Council is looking for inspiring concepts for public art to feature throughout the library and open spaces that will be created at the old Marrickville Hospital site.
Administrator Richard Pearson said that it was an exciting opportunity for artists developing contemporary artworks.
“This is a major public art opportunity for the inner west’s most exciting and accessible new development,” he said.
“We want designs that will complement and enhance the contemporary design and architecture of Patyegarang Place.
“They also need to celebrate the heritage of the site and its surrounds.
“We’re very excited to see the proposals and how they will enrich this new community facility for the inner west.
Submissions for the callout are open now, and will close on Tuesday 20 June 2017.
