Leichhardt Library Annual Photography Award 2017

Leichhardt Library Annual Photography Award 2017 exhibition opens on Wednesday 9 August, 6.30pm.

Now in its fourth year, the exhibition focuses on the work of some of the inner west’s most talented photographers and celebrates the diversity of the inner west.

Leichhardt resident and award winning photographer George Fetting will judge this year’s entries.

Mr Fetting is a two-time winner of Australian Travel Photographer of the Year and was guest judge for the National Photographic Portrait Prize at the NPG in Canberra this year.

He will choose the winner and runner up, both of which will be announced on the night.

“It’s nice to judge these local competitions and see the creative juices flowing. In the last decade there’s been a big improvement in amateur photography. The creative possibilities are endless these days - with digital photography you can just keep shooting!” said Mr Fetting.

A People’s Choice Award will be voted on by visitors to the exhibition.

This is a free event and everyone is welcome. Light refreshments will be served on the opening evening.

The exhibition runs until Wednesday 30 August.
