Council welcomes back elected representatives

An Extraordinary Council Meeting will be held this Thursday (21 September) at Ashfield Service Centre to elect the first Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Inner West Council.
Members of the public are invited to attend.
The results of the first Inner West Council election held this month are now official and the following candidates have been elected to the new Council:

- Darcy Byrne (ALP)
- Rochelle Porteous (GRN)

Marrickville
- Sam Iskandar (ALP)

Stanmore
- Louise Steer (GRN)

General Manager of Inner West Council Rik Hart said he and the Leadership Group were looking forward to working with the new Council.
“I know I speak on behalf of all staff when I say that everyone at Council is looking forward to working in partnership with elected representatives to achieve the aims and aspirations of our inner west community,” Mr Hart said.
“And I invite all the members of our community to attend the Extraordinary Meeting of Council on Thursday night, to see the election of the first-ever Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Inner West Council,” Mr Hart added.
The extraordinary meeting will commence at 6.30pm this Thursday 21 September at 260 Liverpool Road, Ashfield. There are no public speakers at this meeting.
