Celebrate Lunar New Year 2017

Celebrate the Year of the Red Fire Rooster at an Inner West Council Lunar New Year event.

According to Chinese astrology, people born in a year of the Rooster are observant, hardworking, resourceful, courageous, and talented. It will be a year where people are more polite and less stubborn.Everyone is welcome to the free events:

Artists and Tai Chi masters will give cultural demonstrations in Tai Chi performance, Chinese painting and calligraphy. No bookings required.

A Lion Dance will bring prosperity and good luck to local businesses, while the Chinese God of Fortune will follow the procession, giving away traditional red envelopes for good luck and wealth. Alex Trevallion Plaza event is presented with Marrickville Chamber of Commerce
