Celebrate Life with Seniors Festival 2017

Local seniors are invited to celebrate life in the inner west during March with a jam packed program for Seniors Festival 2017 including a local bus tour, a celebration lunch, a wellbeing expo, and cycling and sustainability workshops.

During Seniors Festival 2017, there will also be free entry to local pools for inner west council resident seniors (3-12 March inclusive).

The annual event delivers exciting activities and new adventures for local seniors. Bookings are recommended for all events.

The event program includes:

MONDAY 6 MARCH
10am-1pm: Minibus Tour
Visit the three inner west Men’s Sheds and enjoy a light lunch at one of the sheds.
2pm-5pm: Minibus Tour
Visit Annette Kellerman and Leichhardt Park Aquatic Centres, talk to a personal trainer at the outdoor gym and enjoy afternoon tea.

WEDNESDAY 8 MARCH
10am-1pm: Minibus Tour
Visit pocket city farm Camperdown Commons, and enjoy morning tea.

5pm-7:30pm: International Women’s Day
Dinner, entertainment and a performance by the Older Women’s Network at Pioneers Memorial Park, Norton Street Leichhardt. RSVP 9367 9220

THURSDAY 9 MARCH
10:30am-1.30pm: Celebration Lunch, Marrickville Town Hall
Hear ‘Songs from Next Door’ Theatre, try Salsa dancing, and enjoy a delicious free lunch. Book early with RSVPs open till 24 February.

TUESDAY 28 MARCH
10am-1pm: Wellbeing Expo, Ashfield Town Hall
Learn about what’s available locally to support your health and wellbeing. Try something like zentangle or easy stretches. Local service providers will be available to answer your questions. Ask someone about Health and fitness, help at home, home modifications or social activities.
