PRUAIP - Balmain Road

• Project address:   Balmain Rd  between Parramatta Rd and 41 Balmain Rd, Leichhardt

• Project Description: Design  & construction for public domain improvements to Balmain Road , Leichhardt perpendicular to Parramatta Road.

Streetscape improvements include improved stormwater drainage, lifting and replacing cracked and uneven footpath pavements, new street tree planting, understory mass planting, and new street furniture. This providing a safer surface for walking and so engendering a sense of pride in the appearance of the public domain

Other works include:

- Improved cycling facilities

- Underground electricity

- New Multifunction Poles & lights

-  New Traffic Control Signals

• Progress: 

- Works are progressing

- The project has been delayed due to;

- the COVID shutdown

- extended delays by TfNSW in approving the traffic lights at Parramatta Rd.

- Ausgrid Industrial Action

- Construction is planned to be completed by Nov2022. (Subject to COVID-19 restrictions, TfNSW and Ausgrid approval)

- Underground electrical works complete

- Ausgrid electrical  Cut-Over is complete 

- Footpaths completed
