Calling writers and illustrators for Ashfield Sound Bites

Writers and illustrators are invited to apply for Ashfield Sound Bites – a multi-platform, interactive ‘storybombing’ event, part of EDGE Ashfield.

Emerging or established authors and writers are all eligible to submit proposals on the theme of SOUND. Illustrators will then be paired with selected writers’ texts.

Some of the successful submissions will become large-scale posters, while others will be curated by Spineless Wonders and recorded by voice actors or the authors for a series of installations.

Spineless Wonders is a local Inner West multiplatform, storybombing group who received an Inner West Council Arts and Cultural Grant to produce their work for EDGE Ashfield.

Writing submissions are due by 28 July, and should be up to 500 words, in written or audio format.

Up to six artists will be selected to work with Spineless Wonders and each will be paid a fee of $1,000. For this fee, each artist will be expected to create four unique illustrations responding to texts provided.
