Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud: NAIDOC Week 2024
|
|
'Keep the Fire Burning! Blak, Loud and Proud' is the official theme of NAIDOC Week 2024, which runs from July 7 till July 14. NAIDOC Week is an important opportunity for all Australians to come together and celebrate the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal peoples. Over the coming week, we invite you to explore and celebrate First Nations culture at NAIDOC Week events in the Inner West, including our free Bush to Bowl all-electric cooking workshop and traditional string-making workshops. On 13 and 14 July, don't miss the launch of two new stunning new Perfect Match Street artworks: Ngurimgalagi / We Camp by Elbows and Chris Edwards and Multitudes of Love by Kyra Kum-Sing. Come meet the artists, learn about the artworks and enjoy light refreshments. School holidays are here, and there are a range of free NAIDOC Week celebrations and family days to enjoy. We also encourage you to reflect on our First Nations history at the beautiful Aboriginal Survival Memorial by artists Maddison Gibbs and Nicole Monks. Learn more about NAIDOC Week in the Inner West on our website. View more events on the NAIDOC Week website.
