Rivers Flow is a Perfect Match street art collaboration between artists Zachary Bennett-Brook, a contemporary Indigenous artist born and raised in Dharawal Country (Wollongong), and Kim Siew, a local female artist and designer. Kim is one of the New Moon Collective artists at Council's Thirning Villa Artist in Residence program.
The artwork, conceived in collaboration with community members of the River Canoe Club Marrickville, embraces the surrounding area of the Cooks River, playing with the theme of water and the reflections of the natural environment. To hear more about the artwork and meet the artists, take a look at the short film by Council's Nick Langley. Check out artwork on site, enjoy a stroll alongside the Cooks River and learn about the history and programs of the River Canoe Club.
In other news, local artist Adrian Cook is offering five Wet Plate Collodion workshops to anyone interested in the arts and of low income. The workshops are funded through an Inner West Council Arts and Culture grant. For more information about this great opportunity please see the what's on listing.
